Tharu Cultural Evening & Stick Dance

The Tharu Cultural Evening introduces guests to the traditions of the indigenous Tharu people who have lived in the forests and plains of Chitwan for generations. Hosted at a local cultural venue, the program features a series of traditional performances accompanied by rhythmic drums, folk music, and colorful costumes that reflect the identity and history of the community.

The highlight of the evening is the famous Tharu Stick Dance (Danda Nach), where performers rhythmically strike wooden sticks together while moving in coordinated patterns. The dance symbolizes unity, strength, and community harmony and is deeply rooted in Tharu folklore and festivals.
